Alleged Intruder Stabbed by Homeowner
An alleged intruder was stabbed Saturday night during an attempted home invasion robbery, police said.
Bonificio Bracamontes, 28, of Ventura forced his way into a home in the 10000 block of Brazos Court and struck homeowner Arturo Vega, 26, with a shotgun, said Ventura Police Sgt. Tim Turner.
During the struggle, Vega stabbed Bracamontes several times, police said. Bracamontes fled and was driven to a hospital in a stolen car by Dena Diaz, 25, of Ventura, police said. The car was recovered near the hospital and Diaz was arrested on suspicion of grand theft auto. Bracamontes was arrested on suspicion of robbery. He was in good condition, officials said.
Vega sustained minor injuries and declined treatment. He was not charged with a crime but the investigation was continuing.
