Not Guilty Plea in Rape, Torture Case

A UC Irvine student on Friday pleaded not guilty to charges that he raped, beat and cut swastikas into the cheek of a 15-year-old girl he met on the Internet.
Brian Dance, 20, faces up to 90 years in prison if convicted on all counts.
Dance, who is being held without bail, entered his plea at Orange County Superior Court’s Harbor Justice Center in Newport Beach. A preliminary hearing was set for March 1.
He faces a number of felony charges, including sexual assault, torture, robbery and making criminal threats.
