Cate’s Stern Signs to Play Tennis for Virginia

Lori Stern, a senior tennis player at Carpinteria Cate, has signed with Virginia. She has been a semifinalist in the Southern Section individual tournament the last two years.

* Ryan Rizza, a senior tennis player at Palos Verdes Peninsula, has signed with Virginia. He was a semifinalist in the USTA’s Southern California junior sectional tournament last June.

* Bryant Markson, a 6-foot-6 swingman from Monrovia, has signed with Utah, according to Monrovia Coach Doug Schmidt. Markson is a two-time All-Southern Section selection.
