New Year’s Day Closings
* Mail: All post offices are closed, and no mail will be delivered.
* Banks: All banks are closed.
* Courts: All courts are closed.
* Schools: Los Angeles Unified schools reopen Wednesday or Monday, depending on the track. Most other public schools in Los Angeles County reopen Monday.
* Libraries: City and county libraries are closed.
* Government: All federal, state, county and municipal offices--except those providing emergency services--are closed.
* Transportation: MTA rail service and buses will follow Sunday schedules. Metrolink trains will not operate.
* Trash: There will be no trash pickup in the city of Los Angeles. If your trash is normally picked up Tuesdays through Fridays, pickup will be postponed one day.
