Alleged Drunk Driver Hits Car, Killing Girl, 14
A 14-year-old North Hollywood girl was killed early Monday and her 16-year-old brother critically injured when an alleged drunk driver ran a red light and hit their car, Los Angeles police said.
Gerardo Flores, 29, of North Hollywood was arrested on suspicion of gross vehicular manslaughter while under the influence after the crash at 12:31 a.m. at Roscoe and Laurel Canyon boulevards in Sun Valley, police said.
They said the siblings, who were in the back seat and not wearing seat belts, were ejected from the car. Their parents sustained minor injuries, police said.
