* Providian Financial Corp. said Chief Financial Officer Jim Rowe and Vice Chairman David Petrini will leave the company. Rowe, 43, and Petrini, 41, are among the last senior executives who reported to former Chief Executive Shailesh Mehta, who resigned in October.
Joseph Saunders, who replaced Mehta after running FleetBoston Financial Corp.’s credit card business, is appointing new management and already has hired two executives from his previous employer to run marketing and operations.
* Revlon Inc. said it tapped former Coca-Cola Co. President and Chief Operating Officer Jack Stahl to become the company’s third chief executive in five years.
Stahl, 48, replaces Jeffrey Nugent, who resigned Friday.
* Diagnostic products maker Cytyc Corp. said it would acquire Digene Corp. for about $553.7 million in cash and stock, adding to its line of products to test for cervical cancer.
