3 Marines Killed in Training Accident

Three Marines were killed and five others injured when a heavy vehicle rolled over during a training exercise at Camp Pendleton Wednesday.
The three died at the scene. Three of the injured were airlifted to trauma units at hospitals and two were treated at a hospital on base, said 2nd Lt. Tara Burkhart.
The Marines were taking part in routine training in a rugged part of the base when the accident occurred at 6:30 p.m. No other vehicles were involved.
No names were released while the victims’ families were notified.
