Huntington Chose Right on Wal-Mart

Re “City Gets Earful From Impatient Wal-Mart Patrons,” Jan. 24:
I support the decision of Huntington Beach Mayor Debbie Cook to not issue the permit until Wal-Mart has fulfilled the city’s requirements on park improvements, and I am in shock that Wal-Mart would do such a thing to our community. The actions show that it is only interested in making profit, and not interested in the community it is about to be part of.
I feel that if given the chance, Wal-Mart would not complete the improvements it agreed to. I now worry more than before how Wal-Mart will maintain its store and surrounding area; will Wal-Mart continue to place profits above the community? Thank you Huntington Beach for doing the right thing!
