Trading Odom? There’s the Mistake
I could not stay silent when T.J. Simers wrote in his recent column that the Clippers should trade Lamar Odom. As a Clipper season-ticket holder, I too have experienced the excitement and the frustration that seem to accompany the talent-laden roster.
While I agree that they need and lack that one veteran player to take them to the next level, you don’t trade your best player to get him. The Lakers would never trade Kobe or Shaq. The Clippers, I’m praying, have the foresight to never trade Odom or Brand.
I’m not condoning or excusing the mistakes Lamar Odom has made. He is a young man and is imperfect like the rest of us. Trade him, and you’re giving away the future.
