The fourth of five people charged with murder in a 1975 bank robbery allegedly committed by the Symbionese Liberation Army pleaded not guilty Thursday, joining his fellow ex-radicals in seeking to fight the charges.
Michael Bortin, 53, also pleaded not guilty to charges that he used a gun during the heist.
The five were charged last month with murder in the death of Myrna Opsahl, a 42-year-old mother of four who was killed during the robbery of the Crocker National Bank in Carmichael.
The others accused of the crime are Sara Jane Olson, William Harris, Emily Harris and James William Kilgore. Kilgore is a fugitive.
