True Catholic Message
Thank you for “Dolores Mission Sees Homeless Men as Modern-Day Versions of Juan Diego” (Dec. 14). As a proud Catholic, I can stop for a moment and read in The Times an article that represents the true church of today. It is filled with people like Father Michael Kennedy, doing similar things every day, not asking for anything in return. He is quietly leading his parishioners by example, as do thousands of priests, nuns and lay people in the church.
I have always felt through this dark period in the church that the real strength of the people who serve will overshadow the negative. Father Kennedy stated, “Who we really think is important is not important in God’s eyes.” That is the message of my church.
