Deadmarsh to Miss Another Game
Doctors have not determined what is affecting Adam Deadmarsh’s equilibrium but believe it is probably related to the concussion he suffered last month, King Coach Andy Murray said Wednesday.
This much is certain: Deadmarsh, who leads the Kings with 13 goals in 20 games, won’t play tonight against the Mighty Ducks at Staples Center.
An MRI test Wednesday revealed no concussion, Murray said, and doctors believe Deadmarsh should be ready to play again “in a few days.”
He sat out nine games after suffering a concussion Nov. 12 when hit by Aki Berg of the Toronto Maple Leafs, then returned to score four goals in five games. But he was unable to play Tuesday in a 6-2 victory over the St. Louis Blues.
It is undetermined, Murray said, whether Deadmarsh will travel with the Kings for games Sunday night at Chicago and Monday night at St. Louis.

Rookie Jared Aulin, who played less than five minutes against the Blues in his NHL debut, was sent back to the Kings’ American Hockey League team at Manchester, N.H., while tough guy Kip Brennan was recalled.

The Ducks have faced Jamie Storr in their last three games against the Kings and five of their last six, but tonight they’ll see Felix Potvin, who in his last start against the Ducks stopped 29 shots in a 4-2 victory Jan. 21.
Potvin is 14-3-6 against the Ducks, 2-1-1 since joining the Kings.

To a man, the Mighty Ducks maintain one-game-at-a-time mantra, yet there are moments when they sneak a peek down the road.
The Ducks begin a three-game stretch against Pacific Division teams tonight. They face Phoenix at the Arrowhead Pond on Sunday and play at San Jose on Dec. 26.
The Ducks are 0-4-2 against Pacific Division teams this season.
“All three of those teams made the playoffs last season,” Duck defenseman Keith Carney said. “It’s important to get these points, but this is also going to test us physically and mentally.”
