Reasoning From Hate
The most interesting thing about Peter King’s Dec. 15 column, “The Liberals on the March in Spokane,” was the quote from a 43-year-old consultant from Portland, Ore., who stated that “our U.S. foreign policy has a lot to do with how much [terrorists] hate us in the first place.”
There is some truth in this statement, but the speaker misses the point. It is a generally reliable rule in life that if evil people hate you, it is not because you have done something wrong but because you have done something right.
