GLAAD lists award nominees
“Far From Heaven” and “Frida” are among the nominees for the Gay & Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation’s 14th annual GLAAD Media Awards, which will be presented in April.
Other wide-release nominees are “The Hours,” “The Rules of Attraction” and “Sweet Home Alabama.” Limited-release nominees are “8 Women,” “Borstal Boy,” “His Secret Life,” “Kissing Jessica Stein” and “Y Tu Mama Tambien.”
NBC’s “Will & Grace” and HBO’s “Sex and the City” are the lone TV nominees for outstanding sitcom, while the drama lineup includes the cable series “Queer as Folk,” “Six Feet Under,” “The Wire” and “The Shield,” as well as ABC’s canceled “Once and Again.”
A pair of films dealing with the case of slain Matthew Shepard, HBO’s “The Laramie Project” and NBC’s “The Matthew Shepard Story,” also were nominated.
