A University of Florida neurologist professor was arrested after police found preserved heads, brains, arms and other body parts at his house, some stored in Tupperware containers.
Joseph James Warner, 49, was charged with illegal storage and preservation of human remains and with domestic battery, both misdemeanors. He was held on $5,000 bond.
Warner said he “conducted research at his home, including dissections of human and animal body parts,” Gainesville police said.
The university fired Warner, saying he did not have permission to take body parts home.
