Shooting Victim in Serious Condition

An 18-year-old Oxnard man was in serious but stable condition at St. John’s Regional Medical Center on Wednesday after he was shot in the head by an unknown assailant, authorities said.
Oxnard police did not release the victim’s name because his family had not been located, Det. Terry Burr said.
Burr said the man was shot after leaving a group of friends in the 1500 block of East 2nd Street just after 1 a.m. Wednesday.
“Quite a few people were out there with him but no one says they saw anything,†Burr said.
