Ventura Councilman to Head Transit Panel

Ventura City Councilman Jim Friedman has been elected chairman of the South Coast Area Transit Board of Directors for fiscal 2002-03. John Flynn, chairman of the county Board of Supervisors, will serve as vice chairman of the five-member panel.
SCAT is a joint-powers agency that provides bus and other transit service in western Ventura County. The agency logged about 3.4 million passenger trips on 15 routes in fiscal 2001-02.
