Voit Development Co. is buying a 22-acre parcel adjacent to the Burbank Airport where the company will develop a $40-million, 450,000-square-foot industrial business park.
The site, formerly part of the Lockheed B-6 facility, is being sold by the Burbank-Glendale-Pasadena Airport Authority for $16.3 million.
The parcel became available for sale after the airport authority failed to obtain approval from the city of Burbank to build a passenger terminal.
Voit will build nine free-standing buildings designed by Ware Malcomb for sale or lease ranging from 40,000 to 70,000 square feet, said Tim Regan, a vice president with the Woodland Hills company. Construction is expected to begin early next year, and the first 225,000 square feet should be complete eight months later.
