The Channel Islands National Marine Sanctuary is accepting applications through Tuesday for anyone interested in serving as an alternate fishing representative on the sanctuary’s advisory council.
The council consists of volunteer representatives from federal, state and local agencies as well as members of commercial, educational and recreation groups. It advises officials on issues affecting the marine sanctuary and recommends ways of preserving resources.
Council members serve a three-year term and typically meet every other month in Santa Barbara or Ventura counties.
For an application or details, contact Nancy Berenson at 884-1469 or [email protected] or log onto the Internet at www.cinms.nos.noaa.gov/sac.
