Police Arrest Alleged Abuser
A suspected child molester on the FBI’s “Ten Most Wanted” list was arrested at a Westlake motel early Tuesday evening, authorities said.
Michael Scott Bliss, 37, is suspected of repeatedly molesting a 9-year-old girl in Vermont, New Hampshire and Massachusetts, said FBI spokeswoman Cheryl Mimura.
A team of FBI agents, Los Angeles police, sheriff’s deputies, state agents and parole officers tracked Bliss to the Nutel Motel, Mimura said. Law enforcement officials were led to Bliss by a caller who saw his profile Feb. 9 on the “America’s Most Wanted” TV show, she said.
Last June, Bliss was charged in federal court on suspicion of interstate travel to engage in sex with a child and coercing or enticing someone to travel interstate so he could molest a child, as well as aggravated sexual abuse of a child, Mimura said.
