A wildfire in southern Arizona’s Coronado National Forest destroyed one home and burned 1,300 acres, officials said.
No injuries were reported in the fire in Merritt Canyon, 15 miles southeast of Sonoita.
“We expect it to continue to grow,” said forest spokeswoman Heidi Schewel.
Fire officials were investigating the cause of the fire, which began on private land, said Joan Vasey, a forest spokeswoman. She said that no other homes were in immediate danger.
