An Omani construction firm pointed to mechanical failure in a bus crash that killed 46 of its employees.
“We suspect a mechanical fault caused the accident,” an official at Nahdah Omania said of Friday’s crash, which occurred when a company bus skidded off a mountain road in southern Oman, near Dhofar province. Police have said they believe that high speed was the cause of the accident.
The company official said nine people were injured. Most of the passengers were from the Indian subcontinent. The official Oman News Agency said four Omanis were among those killed in the accident.
