In “Kandahar’s Lightly Veiled Homosexual Habits” (April 3), on the homosexual “habits” of Afghan men, Maura Reynolds writes, “It might seem odd to a Westerner that such a sexually repressive society is marked by heightened homosexual activity.” Odd? Can you say Roman Catholic priests? (And this is not the only area where these two religious institutions intersect.
