A fire that broke out in the carport of a Garden Grove apartment complex and spread to the rest of the eight-unit building left seven families homeless, authorities said.
The Orange County chapter of the American Red Cross provided housing and meal vouchers for the residents of the building, which is on the 10800 block of Palma Vista Street.
The fire was reported at 10:12 p.m. Sunday and was under control within 20 minutes, fire officials said.
Twenty firefighters from Garden Grove and Anaheim responded to the blaze.
