Rubidoux’s Boys Dropped to Division II
Riverside Rubidoux, the third-ranked Division I boys’ cross-country team in the state, will compete at the Division II level in postseason competition next month because an error was discovered in the way the school figured its enrollment for grades 10-12.
The error gave Rubidoux a higher California Basic Educational Data (CBED) number than it should have had.
The drop in division should make Rubidoux the state Division II title favorite. “They should definitely be favored,” said Sal Perez, coach of No. 2-ranked Rosemead Bosco Tech. “They have a real good group of runners.”
