Gang-Related Shooting Leaves 2 Dead, 3 Hurt
Two people were killed and three others wounded in a gang-related attack Sunday in Lake View Terrace, police said.
Details of the shooting were sketchy.
Paramedics received an 11:37 a.m. call about the shooting in the 11400 block of Wheeler Place, near Garber Street, said Brian Humphrey of the Los Angeles Fire Department.
Initial reports indicated that there were three victims. Two young men were transported to area hospitals and a girl was airlifted to a trauma center, Humphrey said.
Police later said the shootings left two people dead and three wounded.
“We know it was gang-related,†said Sgt. Jeff Bert of the Los Angeles Police Department’s Foothill Division.
He did not disclose the ages or gender of the victims or the circumstances of the crime.
“The investigation is ongoing and homicide [detectives] are at the scene,†Bert said.
