Subway Expansion to Cut Congestion Urged
A plan to ease congestion on the capital’s 25-year-old subway system recommends a $6.3-billion rail line between suburban Virginia and Maryland with the first station in the city’s Georgetown neighborhood.

The study released by transit authority staff analyzed traffic patterns and offered recommendations on how to relieve overcrowding for the next 20 years.
