UC Students React to Racist Fliers
Students at UC Santa Cruz are fighting flier with flier after a string of racist paper postings cropped up on the campus this week.
The first fliers contained anti-Semitic, anti-Muslim and white supremacist messages and were discovered early in the week.
In response, Oakes College at the UC campus launched its own flier campaign, declaring the university a “hate-free” zone in five languages.
Oakes College administrator Dave Dodson speculated that the incidents could be in response to the changing demographics on the campus, where the number of minority students has increased over the last year.
