Grand Jury Accepting Applications for 2002

The Orange County Grand Jury is accepting applications for the 2002-03 term.
The 19 members serve for one year and are empowered to investigate government operations and oversee departments and agencies. They also consider evidence for indictment in criminal cases.
Candidates must be adults, U.S. citizens and residents of Orange County for at least one year, and must pass a background check. They may not serve on any other government board or commission during their term.
Grand jurors should be available five days a week and some evenings and weekends. The pay is $50 a day plus mileage costs.
The next term begins July 1. The application deadline is Jan. 18.
