Delgadillo Reorganizes City Attorney’s Office
City Atty. Rocky Delgadillo announced a reorganization of his office Tuesday, including the hiring of former federal prosecutor George Cardona to head the Criminal Division, and former Democratic Party operative Katie Buckland to oversee the Safe Neighborhoods Initiative.
Cardona most recently was a lecturer at the UCLA Law School, and Buckland was Western states political director for the Democratic National Committee. Delgadillo said Pete Echeverria and Maureen Siegal, veterans of the office, will become special counsels in civil and criminal matters, respectively.
Delgadillo also named Theresa Patzakis as special assistant city attorney handling police reform, redistricting and the City Charter, and Donna Edmistron to the rank overseeing children, family and school initiatives.
