Before Thursday’s Pacific League showdown between Crescenta Valley and Arcadia, the Falcon booster club made T-shirts celebrating a Pacific League championship and undefeated regular season.
After a 21-point second half, Crescenta Valley had a 35-14 victory and new shirts to wear.
Crescenta Valley (10-0, 5-0) clinched its third consecutive Pacific League title, the previous two it shared with Arcadia and Pasadena Muir. It was the Falcons’ first outright title since 1997.
“It’s so overwhelming,” said Crescenta Valley quarterback Hudson Gossard, who passed for 166 yards and two touchdowns. “To think about what we’ve done is unbelievable.”
Arcadia (6-4, 4-1) erased a 14-0 halftime deficit behind Brian Ziska, who ran for one touchdown and threw for another. Ziska completed 14 of 29 passes for 197 yards.
Danny Moody scored on a four-yard run with 2:19 to play in the third quarter to give the Falcons a 21-14 lead.
