The company that supplanted Arco in downtown Los Angeles is about to replace the sign on the oil company’s Bunker Hill office building with one of its own.
Britain-based BP, which owns the Arco brand, will unveil a sign today with the BP name atop 57-story 333 S. Hope St., which will be renamed BP Plaza. Senior BP executives will preside over noon ceremonies that will include street performers and other entertainment, BP said.
Another prominent high-rise on Flower Street that was once Arco headquarters will retain its rooftop Arco sign through 2004, according to real estate brokers.
