Escaping High Prices
You know your readership, so I guess there are thousands of readers who are looking for $1,000 weekend getaways (“A Sip of the Good Life in Healdsburg,” Weekend Escape, April 22). Anybody who has picked up a B&B; directory of Napa and Sonoma counties knows it’s not hard to find pricey accommodations.
I’d prefer to read something about a great deal for a more affordable getaway. For example, we’re heading up to Sonoma and we’ve found a couple of B&Bs; for $100 per night on a holiday weekend. (We selected one in Healdsburg.) Granted, they are the smallest rooms in higher-priced B&Bs;, but the breakfast and amenities are the same.
Writer Sherry Stern’s honest opinion of the restaurants was very helpful, as we had both Bistro Ralph and Ravenous on our list of places to eat.
