Colliding Patrol Cars Injure Two Officers
- Share via
Two Anaheim police officers were injured Sunday when they crashed their patrol cars into each other.
One of the patrol cars also skidded into an unoccupied private car after the collision.
Both officers were trying to help another officer who was about to stop a vehicle driven by suspected car thieves. The cars collided at West Street and Fay Lane about 8 a.m., Sgt. Rick Martinez said.
One officer was treated for scrapes and bruises at Western Medical Center-Anaheim, then released. The other, who suffered bruises and scrapes and a sore neck, was kept at UCI Medical Center in Orange for observation. He was expected to be released late Sunday.
Martinez said city insurance would pay for the damage to the parked car. He was unsure if the patrol cars would be replaced.
