Polanco Settlement

* Re “Senate Panel Didn’t OK Polanco Settlement,” March 25: I’m having difficulty believing some of state Sen. Richard Polanco’s former and current colleagues about not having knowledge of a settlement worth over $117,200 to a former aide to Polanco, in 1998, for workplace abuses. Since 1993, workplace settlements in the state Senate have been approximately $160,000.
How can they be taken seriously or honestly on future issues with regard to taxpayer money if they don’t do something about Polanco now? For example, order him to pay back the state for this settlement out of his own pocket--before his term expires. I know Polanco is no Bill Clinton, but I’m tired of paying for political shenanigans, inappropriate behavior or any other name you want to call it. My wallet is not open to him.
