Van Hits House; Driver Had Been Medicated

A woman possibly impaired by pain medication drove her minivan into a house Friday, causing $50,000 damage to the dwelling, a fire official said.
Orange County Fire Authority spokesman Kirk Summers said Diane Davies, 43, lost control of her Dodge Caravan and slammed the vehicle into the side of a house in the 25000 block of Triton Court in Mission Viejo. Davies was not injured and no one was in the home at the time.
The vehicle severed gas and electrical lines at the house, but service to other homes was not uninterrupted.
According to Summers, Davies had a foot injury and the pain medication she was taking may have contributed to the accident. The front end of the minivan also had substantial damage, he said.
