From Times Wire Reports
The world’s first compressed-air roller coaster debuts Saturday at Paramount’s Kings Dominion theme park in Doswell, Va., promising literally to blow riders away.
The HyperSonic XLC uses a blast of air to shoot riders straight up a 165-foot tower, moving them from zero to 80 mph in two seconds.
There are no curls, loops or frills on the 45-second ride.
After shooting skyward, the chain of blue cars snakes over the top of the white steel tower and makes a face-first plunge back to Earth.
