Political violence that has left three dead and 16 hurt in Port-au-Prince, the Haitian capital, spread as the government repeated its threats to arrest opposition leaders.
Armed supporters of President Jean-Bertrand Aristide marched in the southern town of Les Cayes, demanding the arrest of a leading opposition figure, Radio Vision 2000 reported.
The government repeated threats to arrest Gerard Gourgue, accusing the leader of the opposition alliance Democratic Convergence of illegally “usurping†the title of president.
