Learning Tree Revises Forecast
Learning Tree International Inc. said it sees second-quarter revenue and earnings lower than expected because of a difficult economic environment. The Los Angeles-based information technology training school said it now predicts sales for the quarter of $57 million to $59 million. It said analysts had projected revenue of $62 million. Learning Tree forecast net earnings for the quarter of 23 cents to 27 cents a share, compared with year-ago earnings of 37 cents. It said revenue growth probably will grow 7% to 11% in the future quarter, compared with the company’s historical growth rate of 22%. Shares, which were briefly halted, fell 56 cents to close at $26.50 on Nasdaq.
