Lincoln Wants to Make Point Against Crespi
- Share via
If Crespi High wants to advance past the first round of the Southern California regional basketball playoffs, the Celts had better find a way to contain sophomore point guard Shaun Davis of San Diego Lincoln Academy.
Davis is considered the No. 1 sophomore point guard in the state. He’s averaging 26 points entering tonight’s 7:30 Division IV regional opener at Crespi.
Don’t be surprised if UCLA Coach Steve Lavin makes a visit to Encino to watch Davis.
It will be an opportunity for Crespi’s junior point guard, Allan Ellis, to show what he can do against a top opponent.
Lincoln (21-8) lost in the San Diego Section Division IV final to The Bishop’s School, 64-45. Crespi (23-6) won the Southern Section Division IV-AA championship and is seeded No. 4 in the eight-team regional.

Notre Dame (23-6) has been off more than a week in preparation for its Division III regional playoff opener against host St. Augustine (19-6) tonight in San Diego.
St. Augustine won the San Diego Division III championship, with Oregon State-bound Floyd North scoring 25 points and Utah-bound Eric Osmundson scoring 24.
St. Augustine is seeded No. 2, Notre Dame No. 7.
