Egghead.com Cutting 77 Jobs

Egghead.com Inc., which sells computers and technology products on the Internet, said it is cutting 77 jobs, or 12% of its work force, in an effort to turn a profit by the fourth quarter. Egghead.com is dismissing 40 people from its Menlo Park, Calif., headquarters and 37 more in Vancouver, Wash. Egghead.com shares closed up 6 cents at 81 cents on Nasdaq.
