vs. No. 1 Stanford
1 p.m., Channel 2
* Site--Pauley Pavilion.
* Radio--KXTA (1150).
* Records--No. 12 UCLA 20-6, 13-2; No. 1 Stanford 26-1, 14-1.
* Update--The Bruins are looking to knock off the Cardinal for a third consecutive time, which would give UCLA the inside track on at least a share of the Pacific 10 Conference title. One matchup to watch is UCLA’s Billy Knight vs. Casey Jacobsen, who made four of 18 shots from the field in the last meeting. Knight, who scored 22 points in that game, was particularly proud of his defense. “I just wanted to limit his touches and play hard,†Knight said. “I was just trying to get in his face the whole time. He’s similar to Jason Kapono, and I was guarding Jason in practice all last year.†Stanford plays sturdy defense too. The Cardinal has limited opponents to 41.4% shooting, second best in conference. Only six opponents have shot better than 50% from the field.
