The strength of Southland high school basketball was recognized this week when three of the region’s players were selected to play in the McDonald’s All-American high school basketball game March 28 at Duke’s Cameron Indoor Stadium.

Cedric Bozeman of Mater Dei, Josh Childress of Lakewood Mayfair and Tyson Chandler of Compton Dominguez will play for the 12-member West team.

Bozeman, a 6-foot-6 guard, has signed to attend UCLA. Childress, 6-6, has signed with Stanford. Chandler, 7-0, has not committed to a college and is regarded as a potential lottery pick in the NBA draft.
