Apparently, It’s Not a Sports World After All
Paul Pressler’s oversight of the Angels and Ducks [“Stay the Course,†June 25] should be distressing news to fans of the two teams, because this is the same Pressler who personally oversaw Disney’s California Adventure debacle that is a millstone around the neck of his company’s bottom line as well as the Rocket Rods fiasco in Tomorrowland.
Moreover, he then gives the New York Yankees some bulletin board fodder by basically saying that the Angels can beat Joe Torre’s club any time it wants and that the Angels are hoping to draw New York in the playoffs.
Pressler, in coming out of Disney’s retail division originally, has zero experience running a professional sports organization and his remarks about the Yankees exhibit just how tone deaf he is in that endeavor. Please Disney, sell. And do it now.
