Reynolds, Woods Pick Up First Victories of Season
IRWINDALE — Escondido’s Brent Reynolds and Chino’s Tim Woods each won their first race of the season as they split the Food 4 Less Super Late Model Twin 50-lap main events Saturday night in front of 5,115 at Irwindale Speedway.
In the first race, Reynolds went wire to wire for the victory. The race was stopped on Lap 23 after three cars collided.
Super Late Model point leader Charles Utts went to Arcadia Methodist Hospital for observation after complaining about pain in his lower back and chest. His chest was bruised, but he was conscious and in good spirits.
In the second race, Woods also went wire to wire, holding off Sean Woodside and Brandon Loverock for 44 laps until Loverock lost control coming out of turn 4 and spun out.
Dean Kuhn won his sixth Grand American Modified race of the season, capturing the 35-lap Larry Krieger Memorial, honoring the former champion who died in February.
