Shame and Blame

Re “Promiscuity & Drug Abuse,” editorial cartoon, June 7: I have treated people retching and vomiting cupfuls of blood from swollen bellies--the consequence of years of drinking booze. We don’t add to their agony with blame. When and if Michael Ramirez--or a Times editor--suffers a heart attack, perhaps from giving in to dairy or dessert, the medical profession will treat him with compassion, not with taunts. That you would run such a repulsive and offensive cartoon goes far beyond poor judgment to rank stupidity.
