My Best Shot

The “tremendous bright light and color splash” are what impressed Allen Wolman about Greece’s Santorini island, where he took this photo last fall. From a restaurant patio, this view shows the island’s caldera and the town of Oia on the northern end. Wolman, of Oxnard, and his wife, Jean, spent three weeks in Greece. Combining a group walking tour with independent travel, they also visited Athens and Delphi on the mainland and the islands of Crete, Rhodes and Naxos. Wolman’s favorite was Santorini, which he calls “one of the most beautiful places I’ve ever been.”
