Quarterback Craig Herrera of Paraclete was chosen most valuable player after rushing 10 times for 94 yards and two touchdowns to lead the West to an 18-13 victory over the East in the High Desert Football Coaches Assn. All-Star game at Antelope Valley College on Saturday night.
Herrera scored on a seven-yard run in the first quarter and added a 29-yard run for a score as the West built a 15-6 lead.
Herrera completed four of seven passes for 63 yards.
Jose Duarte of Highland kicked a 28-yard field goal for the West.
Herbert Blood of Littlerock had a four-yard touchdown run and Ben Swann of Boron caught a seven-yard scoring pass from Demetre Booker of Antelope Valley for the East.
