Hospitality at Museum
A July 25 letter writer complained of feeling unwelcome at the Roy Rogers-Dale Evans Museum in Victorville. I have visited the museum with relatives several times. We always enjoyed warm hospitality from everyone there.
A highlight of my grandfather’s life was the time he gave an impromptu, a cappella performance of singing-cowboy numbers with a Gabby Hayes impersonator inside the museum, to the delight of a small crowd of visitors. The employees were happy to let him express his feelings about his hero Roy Rogers the best way he knew how: through song.
Whether it stays in Victorville or makes “happy trails†to Branson, Mo., this wonderful museum will continue making former “little buckaroos†feel young again.
