Saddleback Schools Select New Leader
Jerry C. Gross, a veteran school superintendent from Ventura County, has been appointed superintendent of the Saddleback Valley Unified School District, the Board of Education announced Thursday.
Gross, 61, led the high-performing Conejo Valley Unified School District for eight years. He succeeds longtime Saddleback district chief Peter Hartman, who died Jan. 20.
The board will vote to confirm Gross’ appointment at its Aug. 2 meeting. Salary negotiations are still underway.
Saddleback, the fourth-largest school district in Orange County, includes Lake Forest, Laguna Hills, Laguna Woods and parts of Mission Viejo and Rancho Santa Margarita.
